Catanduanes is an island province that is located in Luzon and is situated in the Bicol Province in the Philippines. It is considered as the twelfth largest island in the country. The island is known throughout the country as Land of the Howling Winds because it’s located in the easternmost part of the Bicol region facing the Pacific Ocean hence the strong winds; and that being said it is also a starting point of tropical storms entering the country. But don’t let that intimidate you because Catanduanes is one of the most beautiful provinces in the Philippines. The island is full of life and very fascinating. There are a lot of sights to see and new things to experience in Catanduanes. So we will list here some of the things that you might want to see if you managed to go in the province.

Binurong Point is located in the baranggay of Guinsaanan, Baras, Catanduanes this place are lovely hills and cliffs that are overlooking the ocean, you must trek for some time thought but that will be all worth it once you are in the point and enjoying the scenic view. It’s better to trek there at dawn so that you could watch the beautiful sunrise that nature has to offer.
Holy Cross of Batalay Shrine is located in Batalay, Bato and it was the site where a Catholic Cross was planted in Catanduanes. The shrine was also built over the burial place of Fray Diego de Herrera who was an Augustinian priest in 1576. The locals believe that the cross has healing powers, either way the place is very gorgeous to look at. The architectures of the place are beautiful. A great place to see if you are already in the area.
Nupa Green Lagoon is located in Gigmoto, Catanduanes and it is a gorgeous green pool that is both secluded and natural so it will be an ideal place for people that are too stressed out to deal with life anymore. This place will help you relax and have fun. To get there you will have to trek and some of the guides don’t know where it is so finding a guide will be an adventure on its own.
Balacay Point is located in the baranggay of Benticayan, Baras. This place is one of the most popular place that tourists flock to in Catanduanes. Well you can’t blame them because this place is absolutely marvelous. The point provides a three sixty view of Catanduanes. It is also scenic as well just try not to tear up when viewing the beauty that the world has to offer. You can trek to get to this place or you can bring your own car and drive there, which ever path you choose the trip will be worth it.
Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine is located in Batong Paloway, San Andres and it houses the thumbnail sized stone that is said to be bearing the face of the mystical Virgin Mary. The locals believed that the size of the stone grows every year. A lot of devotees go here to pay respect. This place is very beautiful also so if you are not interested in the shrine that much, we suggest that you should visit this place for its beauty and the ambiance and devotion of the people is also something to see and experience.

Puraran Beach is located in Baras, Catanduanes and it is regarded as one of the country’s most popular surf spots. The beach is home to The Majestic Wave which is a popular thing among surfers. The beach is not too crowded so if you want a chill time definitely visit this beach and have a lovely time under the sun.
